Dr Juliet Bressan is a GP and public health doctor and is the president of Performing Arts Medicine Ireland. She has a masters degree in epidemiology, a MSc in addiction studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, Kings College London and the University of Adelaide, and is trained with the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine at the Royal Society of Musicians at Kings College London as well as the The Institute of Music Physiology and Musicians’ Medicine at Hanover University of Music and Drama. Dr Bressan founded the Musicians Dystonia Clinic at St Vincents Hosiptal in Dublin before joining Portobello Physio as a medical consultant. She provides health assessments for professional musicians and music students on behalf of BAPAM and the charity Help Musicians, and is passionate about helping music students and professional musicians to avoid injuries, practice smart and train strategically to stay healthy and to stay on stage.
Performing artists have many unique medical expectations and needs which the DPAMC can address by prescribing individual treatment and rehabilitation programs.
